Hellz Kitchen - September 2008

Saturday the 6th of September was a big night for Wellingtons Underground Hip-Hop scene. The Welli Deep Family put on a blazing Hip-Hop show for all at Bar Bodega. Hosted by the Wanderer Clique, the night kicked off at 9pm with DJ's Kerb and Omega.B playing all those hard hip-hop beats while the masses started flowing in. Prior to the Wanderers opening set, was a dance showcase featuring some of wellingtons brightest and exciting B'Boyz and B'Girlz. From 1130pm through to 3am we were entertained by sets from each crew of the Welli Deep Family. The showcase was opened by The Wanderers, and the host crew were followed by Chozin Few, 44META4Z, Phatty Lumpkinz, D1, Gutterside, Delta Sierra (formerly the Darksidahz), and Tha illa Souljah Krew.

Overall, the showcase proved how strong Wellingtons underground Hip-Hop scene is, and has always been. The raw talent is endless, and the quality of the material being put on display by each crew is growing by the day.

The Welli Deep Gigs are starting to happen more frequently now, and the crews, the sets, the venue, as well as the overall organisation seems to get better everytime. Great news for the masses.

Big Ups to the Welli Deep Family, keep up the good work.

Peace,

J-Rod.
